Karlshof Stud – A Star Amongst German Stud Farms

The Karlshof Stud set at Bergstrasse, what is also called Germany’s Tuscany, belongs to the leading horse breeding farms of noble thoroughbreds.
The Stud, owned by Michaela Faust, comprises a meadowland area of 70 hectares (173 acres) and 65 stalls.
After having lain fallow for many years the farmstead, which had been established outside a village, was acquired in 1989 and converted into a stud farm.
Since 1990 the Karlshof Stud has been recognized as an authorised thoroughbred stud farm.

Within a relatively short time period for this racing sport the breeding farm had already produced three Derby winners, one Diana winner and numerous other successful racehorses, which had also resulted in winning three Breeding Championships.

Bruno Faust, with his extensive self-acquired knowledge of bloodlines and breeding, is behind the success of the Karlshof Stud breeding program.

Now, their son Holger Faust is the next generation to get enthusiastically involved and is already responsible for, amongst other things, the management of the racehorses in their own racing colours of black-red-light blue.

Currently, the stud farm owns two stallions: SAMUM and his offspring KAMSIN both results of the Stud’s own breeding.

Furthermore, the Karlshof Stud is widely known for its sales at auctions and the Stud’s main focus is not only the breeding and owning of horses but also the sale of nearly all yearlings.
